Thermally Modified Wood

Thermowood Ash

ThermoWood Ash goes through a process of heat treatment that permanently changes the wood’s cellular structure. This modification makes this Ash incredibly resistant to rot, bugs and other outdoor threats and also increases its stability and durability. ThermoWood Ash comes in a dark brown color, often with a slight reddish or purplish hue.

Enhancement Process: Heat and Steam

Lifespan: 25+ Years

Maintenance: Low

Origin: U.S. and Canada

Species: American Ash

Thermowood Pine

Due to structural changes of the wood with high heat treatment, the inertial stress of Thermowood Pine is reduced. This process creates an equilibrium moisture content into the wood’s cell, potentializing the stability of the material by 80% in outdoor weather conditions when compared to non-treated woods.

Enhancement Process: Heat and Steam

Lifespan: 15+ Years

Maintenance: Low

Origin: Europe

Species: Scots Pine

Kebony Clear

Kebony Clear is a natural product and undergoes a patented process that alters the wood fibers’ ability to hold moisture as a result of cell modification. The process also reduces the shrinking and swelling of Kebony compared to the parent wood by 50%, improves the stiffness by 10-20%, and enhances the hardness by 30-50%.

Enhancement Process: Oil-based liquid

Lifespan: 30+ Years

Maintenance: Low

Origin: North America

Species: Pinus Radiata
